Amman, Nov. 17 (Petra) The European Commission on Monday lowered its eurozone growth forecast for 2026 to 1.2 percent, according to Euronews.
In its statement, the Commission projected real GDP growth in the single-currency bloc at 1.2 percent for 2026, down from its earlier estimate of 1.4 percent.
Forecasts for the EU’s 27 member states were also revised slightly downward to 1.4 percent, compared with a previous projection of 1.5 percent.
The Commission warned that Europe’s “highly open” economy remains vulnerable to ongoing trade constraints, adding that persistent uncertainty surrounding global trade policies continues to weigh on economic activity.
