Brussels, July 29 (QNA) – European stock indexes opened higher on Wednesday, despite pressure on artificial intelligence-related technology stocks, amid higher oil prices and as investors awaited the US Federal Reserve’s monetary policy decision, while markets drew support from luxury goods and banking stocks.
Among the major European markets, the pan-European STOXX 600 index rose 0.35 percent to 648.54 points. France’s CAC 40 index on the Paris Stock Exchange gained 0.43 percent, while Germany’s DAX index on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange advanced 0.31 percent.
Milan’s stock market index rose 0.76 percent, while Britain’s FTSE 100 index in London gained 0.55 percent. (QNA)
