Amman, Jan. 28 (Petra) Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, held a phone call on Tuesday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Georgi Georgiev. The two ministers discussed steps to enhance bilateral relations and regional developments.
Safadi congratulated Georgiev on his appointment as Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister and reaffirmed Jordan’s interest in strengthening ties with Bulgaria both bilaterally and within the context of the European Union.
The Bulgarian Foreign Minister expressed his country’s appreciation for its relationship with Jordan and its commitment to further developing it.
The two ministers agreed to hold a session of political consultations in Sofia this year and explored ways to expand cooperation in various economic, trade, investment, tourism, cultural, and defense fields, including through meetings in Aqaba.
Safadi also discussed a number of regional issues, primarily efforts to solidify a ceasefire in Gaza and ensure the adequate and sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid to all parts of the Strip.
