Addis Ababa, 11-2-2026 (SUNA) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salim, received on Wednesday at his residence in the Presidential Palace in Addis Ababa, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Sudan, Mr. Ramtane Lamamra, in the presence of Sudan’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Al-Zein Ibrahim Hussein.The two sides reviewed the latest developments in Sudan. The Minister of Foreign Affairs took note of Envoy Lamamra’s assessment of the humanitarian situation caused by the war, as well as his explicit condemnation of the attack on the humanitarian food convoy carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia using drones.Mr. Lamamra expressed his full solidarity with the government and people of Sudan in their efforts to rebuild after returning to Khartoum, noting that the United Nations looks forward to initiating an inclusive political process.For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs reassured the UN envoy that the situation is moving in the right direction and highlighted efforts to ensure the security and stability of Sudan and its citizens, affirming Sudan’s commitment to cooperate with the United Nations and its specialized agencies. He further announced his determination to expand joint cooperation for reconstruction and stability.BH/BH
