Former Beninese Ambassador to Morocco Granted Grand Cordon of Wissam Al Alaoui

The Royal Decoration was presented to Dagnon by Morocco’s Ambassador to Benin, Rachid Rguibi, during a ceremony held on Wednesday at the Kingdom’s Residence in the Beninese capital. The event was attended by members of the Beninese government, several political, media, and economic figures, as well as members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Cotonou.

Speaking on this occasion, Rguibi praised Dagnon’s dedication during his tenure in Morocco and his strong commitment not only to bilateral relations but also to major African causes, according to a press release from the Moroccan embassy.

For his part, Dagnon expressed his sincere gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for this decoration, stating his “pride and deep emotion” after having spent many years leading his country’s diplomatic mission in Morocco.

In this regard, the Beninese diplomat expressed his admiration for the progress achieved by Morocco on its path to development under the enlightened leadership of the Sovereign.

Dagnon also affirmed that over the years, the Kingdom has resolutely forged “a brilliant African destiny, whose exemplary nature is likely to inspire similar progress across the continent.”

The former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Benin to Morocco, Serge Dagnon, was decorated with the Grand Cordon of Wissam Al Alaoui, awarded to him by HM King Mohammed VI.
