Showcases Latest Innovations in Green Building

Muscat, 8 Dec 2025 (ONA) — The activities of the
Green Building Forum 2025 commenced today in Muscat. Organized by Petroleum
Development Oman (PDO), the forum aims to provide practical solutions to
elevate the quality of construction projects in the Sultanate of Oman by
adopting environmentally friendly materials, improving energy efficiency, and
developing more sustainable execution methods.

The opening of the forum was held under the
patronage of Dr. Said Hamad Al Rubai’e, Vice-Chancellor ofthe University
of Technology and Applied Sciences.

The two-day forum represents a pivotal platform
that brings together experts to exchange experiences and support the
sustainability journey in the urban sector of Oman. This contributes to leading
the transition towards a low-emission built environment through eco-friendly
materials, energy efficiency, the circular economy, and modern technologies.

The forum included a panel discussion addressing
challenges associated with applying eco-friendly materials and updating
specifications, in addition to a visual presentation on the Omani Building Code.

The forum showcased the latest innovations in
low-carbon building materials, alongside panel discussions on energy
efficiency. These included sessions on architectural design based on digital
analysis, thermal energy storage systems, and advanced air conditioning
technologies for the Gulf climate.

Meanwhile, the forum’s second day activities will
focus on execution efficiency and the circular economy through panel
discussions highlighting efficient execution strategies, applications of the
circular economy in construction projects, and the role of modern technologies
in enhancing infrastructure sustainability.

This forum comes at a time when the Sultanate of
Oman is witnessing accelerated growth in infrastructure projects, coinciding
with the updating of sustainability-related standards.

An exhibition accompanies the forum, featuring a
range of low-emission building materials, recycling solutions, and circular
economy initiatives.
