Amman, Oct. 19 (Petra) – The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has urged service recipients to verify the identities of its official inspection teams as part of its ongoing awareness campaign under the unified inspection quality enhancement program for commercial establishments.
The municipality noted that it had recently observed an incident in which one of its employees conducted an inspection of a commercial establishment in Amman without such activity falling within his duties or official authority. The municipality said the employee was referred to the public prosecutor for legal action.
It explained that inspectors’ identities can be verified by ensuring they wear the official uniform, carry body cameras that record the inspection process, display an official identification badge on the chest showing the employee’s name and job number, and use the official digital tablet during their duties.
GAM called on citizens and business owners not to deal with anyone who fails to meet these requirements and to immediately report any violations or improper practices.
