Amman, Nov. 13 (Petra) — The fourth round of the 2025 Jordanian Golf League commenced Thursday at Ayla Golf Club in Aqaba, drawing around 40 players from Jordan alongside several international competitors.
The tournament, running through Saturday, showcases a mix of skill levels and ages across multiple categories, including Pioneers, Elite, Stableford, and Academy.
The event highlights the continued growth of golf in Jordan under the new league format introduced earlier this year by the Jordan Golf Federation. The revamped system has enhanced competitiveness, elevated player performance, and strengthened the sport’s visibility on national and regional stages.
Mansour Al-Kabariti, Director of Public Relations at Ayla Development and Tournament Director, said, “Hosting this round underscores Ayla’s commitment to supporting Jordanian sports and positioning Aqaba as a leading destination for both tourism and athletic events. Our facilities and organizational expertise enable us to deliver tournaments that meet the highest professional standards.”
Nasser Al-Shomali, Vice President of the Jordan Golf Federation, described the round as a pivotal stage in the league, noting strong participation across all categories and the valuable presence of international players.
He commended Ayla Development for providing comprehensive technical and logistical support, ensuring smooth operations in line with global standards.
The growing involvement of juniors is another highlight. National team coach Anas Al-Omariyeen said the high participation of young players reflects the success of the Federation’s programs in expanding the sport’s base and nurturing new talent. The diverse categories offer challenges for players of all ages, while the enthusiasm of participants continues to raise the level of competition each year.
The tournament is overseen by a technical committee chaired by Jawad Fadli, with Moath Al-Qatatsheh as Head of Referees and Qais Al-Adwan and Ahmed Abu Sweilem supervising rule enforcement according to international standards.
Through events like this, the Jordan Golf Federation, in partnership with the Jordan Olympic Committee and Ayla Development, is advancing the growth of golf in Jordan, providing competitive opportunities for players, and reinforcing the country’s reputation in regional and international sports.
