Heritage Ministry Signs Contract to Operate, Employ
Samail Fort

Samail, 26 Oct (ONA) — The
Ministry of Heritage and Tourism signed a contract with Rawafid Samail
International Company to manage, operate and employ Samail Fort in the Wilayat
of Samail, A’Dakhiliyah Governorate.

The contract was signed by the Ministry’s
Undersecretary for Heritage and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rawafid
Samail Company.

The contract seeks to maximize the
benefits of cultural heritage and enhance its contribution to economic growth.

Given its significant cultural and
heritage value, the Fort of Samail serves as a key historical landmark in A’Dakhiliyah
Governorate.

The project will contribute to the
activation of tourism by attracting visitors from the Sultanate of Oman and
abroad. It offers an opportunity to highlight the private sector’s role in operating heritage sites.

The project will also generate direct
and indirect jobs for members of the local community, in addition to engaging the fort’s adjoining farms in a manner that serves the company’s plan to activate the
site.

After its operation and management,
the fort is expected to add momentum to the national economy, notably by augmenting tourism
spending, encouraging entrepreneurs to invest in the field of hospitality and
related services and enhancing the Wilayat of Samail’s position as a key cultural
destination on the Omani tourism map.
