Human Resources Minister Reviews Social Support Programmes with White Nile State Wali

Port Sudan, Jan. 22, 2026 (SUNA) – The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Mutasim Ahmed Salih, praised White Nile State for its efforts in supporting vulnerable groups, assisting low-income families, and facilitating microfinance programmes, despite hosting a large influx of displaced persons (IDPs) from war-affected areas.The Minister made the remarks during a meeting in Port Sudan with the Wali of White Nile State, Lt. Gen. Quamar-El-Din Mohamed Fadl Al-Mawla, where he reviewed the state’s social welfare initiatives, including protection programmes, microfinance, and health insurance.Minister Salih affirmed that White Nile State has successfully addressed challenges to sustain social development programmes, which are essential for broader development. He highlighted the Ministry’s 2026 plan to expand microfinance projects, support for poor families, orphan sponsorship, services for persons with disabilities, and health insurance programmes, tailored to the state’s needs.Wali Fadl Al-Mawla noted that the meeting focused on social development priorities across all localities, which have been integrated into the Ministry’s ongoing plans and are receiving ministerial attention.FA/BH
