Amman, Feb 4 (Petra) – The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) audit team concluded its work in the Kingdom on Wednesday after conducting intensive inspection tours that included a comprehensive review of civil aviation security and facilitation procedures in Jordan.
At the closing session, held under the patronage of the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Captain Dhaifallah Al-Farajat, the audit team presented its preliminary findings, which reflected a notable level of excellence in the national system.
During the session, the audit team expressed the organization’s appreciation for the high standard Jordan has achieved in aviation security, confirming that it has recorded advanced performance indicators that place it among the world’s leading countries in this sector.
The team praised the high level of harmony and teamwork between the CARC and all strategic partners and the close coordination with security agencies operating at airports, as well as the ability of airports and national airlines to apply the most precise international standards in force.
Al-Farajat said the achievement was the result of cumulative efforts and continuous support for the aviation system, stressing the commission’s commitment to continuing to develop policies and procedures to ensure the highest levels of security and to strengthen Jordan’s position as a vital regional hub for air transport.
The audit was conducted under the Universal Security Audit Programme – Continuous Monitoring Approach (USAP-CMA), implemented by ICAO to ensure member states’ compliance with international rules and recommendations related to civil aviation security and facilitation.
