Amman, January 4 (Petra) – Interior Minister Mazen Faraya has directed administrative governors to release 461 administrative detainees.
In a Ministry of Interior statement, this decision comes as part of the ministry’s efforts to facilitate the beneficiaries’ reintegration into society, enhance their chances of rehabilitation, and enable them to resume normal lives with their families, particularly at the start of the new year 2026.
The amnesty follows a review of their cases and the nature of their detention, as the decision deemed their detention period already served as “sufficient.”
Furthermore, this move underscores the ministry’s humanitarian approach to administrative detention by adhering to the legal safeguards stipulated by law, while simultaneously respecting legal and security controls aimed at curbing criminal activity of dangerous individuals.
