Amman, Dec. 4 (Petra) – Interior Minister Mazen Faraya directed administrative governors to release 453 administrative detainees, effective Thursday.
The ministry said the decision aims to support the released individuals’ reintegration into society, enhance their prospects for reform, and enable them to resume their normal lives with their families, following a review of their cases and the nature of their offenses, and after determining that the periods they spent in detention were sufficient.
The ministry added that the decision reflects its humanitarian approach in dealing with administrative detention in line with legal safeguards, while also observing the legal and security requirements aimed at restricting the criminal activity of high-risk individuals.
