Amman, Jan. 2 (Petra) – Director General of the Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC), Alaa Shbilat, checked on the operation details of the International Passenger Transport Terminal, which began activities Thursday, in the capital.
During his meeting with owners of foreign travel agencies, he stressed the need to organize this type of transportation operations to ensure that the Kingdom’s incoming and outgoing passenger flow are regulated.
Shbilat added that the land passenger center is similar to the traveller movement in airports, adding that the projet aimed to organize entry and exit of foreign vehicles to and from the Kingdom.
The step, he noted, will govern all Jordanian land crossings, within special routes for Iraqi, Syrian and Saudi vehicles, which are required to spend the night at the terminal if no passengers are transported.
Shbilat also learned about the method of obtaining the official document of “manifests” for each vehicle, which contains passenger data.
