Occupied Jerusalem and Ramallah, Jan. 11 (Petra) — Israeli occupation forces on Sunday carried out a wide campaign of raids and arrests against Palestinian cities, villages, and refugee camps across the West Bank.
In a statement, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPC) said occupation forces arrested 19 Palestinians during the West Bank raids, claiming the detainees were wanted.
In a related development, occupation forces’ gunfire injured 3 Palestinians in Al-Yasmina neighborhood of the Old City of Nablus in the northern West Bank.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society said two Palestinians, aged 18 and 26, were wounded by live ammunition and transferred to Rafidia Hospital, who are now in a stable condition. A third youth sustained a shoulder injury by rubber-coated metal bullets on Al-Basha Street in the city.
Separately, settlers, under Isreali police heavy protection, stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem via the Al-Magharebah Gate.
The Jordan-run Islamic Waqf Department in occupied Jerusalem said dozens of settlers entered Al-Aqsa, toured its courtyards, and performed Talmudic rituals in the Al-Rahma Gate area east of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The department added that forces imposed strict measures on entry of worshippers and Jerusalemites into Al-Aqsa Mosque and held several IDs at the outer gates.
