Amman, Jan. 26 (Petra) – Princess Rym Ali, Chairwoman of the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF), emphasized the urgency of empowering young people to sustain hope in today’s world, where many aspects often disappoint their aspirations. Her remarks came during meetings in Brussels, Belgium.
During her visit, Princess Rym held bilateral talks with the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Deputy European Commission President Kaja Kallas, and Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka ?uica, accompanied by the foundation’s Executive Director, Josep Ferré.
The Princess expressed the foundation’s readiness to contribute to the forthcoming consultation process on the Mediterranean Charter by proposing an approach that bridges generations and incorporates civil society perspectives while considering Euro-Mediterranean dimensions.
This initiative is expected to enrich discussions at the Anna Lindh Forum, scheduled to take place in Tirana, Albania, from June 18 to 20, 2025. The event is set to gather approximately 1,000 participants, including civil society organizations, youth leaders, media representatives, influencers, policymakers, and other stakeholders from 43 Euro-Mediterranean countries.
“It is imperative in today’s world to empower youth to maintain hope, as many aspects of life fail to meet their expectations,” said Princess Rym, adding that the forum could offer a glimmer of hope by providing opportunities for knowledge-sharing, action-driven engagement, and cultural unity, allowing young people to rally around a shared vision for their future.
