Amman, Sep. 9 (Petra) – Directorate of Military Women Affairs (DMWA) on Tuesday held a meeting for gender ambassadors in the Jordanian Armed Forces, in cooperation with UN Women in Jordan.
Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army Assistant for Administration and Human Resources, DMWA Director and the UN Women representative in Jordan attended the meeting.
According to its statement, the discussion tackled the roles of JAF’s gender champions and mechanisms for enhancing their role in supporting efforts to empower women in the military sector.
The dialogue also went over consolidating the principles of justice and equal opportunities within the military work environment, which would “positively impact institutional and professional performance.”
This event, which was attended by a number of JAF senior officers, is part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the JAF’s partnership with UN Women, which contributes to achieving goals of improving workplace quality, in line with the JAF’s visions and aspirations.
