Amman, January 14 (Petra) – Director General of the National Electricity Company (NEPCO), Sufyan Batayneh, on Tuesday discussed with a visiting Algerian delegation from the National Electricity and Gas Company (Sonelgaz) avenues for collaboration to exchange expertise and improve maintenance and operation systems for electrical transmission networks between Jordan and Algeria.
Batayneh highlighted the significance of fostering bilateral cooperation in electrical network maintenance and exploring opportunities to enhance shared capabilities in the energy sector. He emphasized the importance of sustained communication to leverage expertise, contributing to the sector’s development and promoting innovation in electricity transmission operations.
The Algerian delegation toured NEPCO’s National Monitoring and Control Center and South Amman Transformer Station. During the visit, they were briefed on procedures for scheduled and preventive maintenance and the mechanisms employed for replacing electrical equipment, adhering to the highest international standards of quality and safety.
The delegation will continue their visit on Wednesday with stops at NEPCO’s Electrical Training Center and the Samra Transformer Station, further exploring technical practices and innovations in the field.
