Amman, Sept 4 (Petra) – Transport Minister Nidal Qatamin met on Wednesday with European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) regional director Gretchen Biery to discuss cooperation on infrastructure and sustainable public transport.
Talks focused on restructuring urban transit routes in Irbid and Zarqa, a project officials described as a strategic step to improve service quality, efficiency and safety.
The meeting also reviewed technical studies carried out with the EBRD and partners aimed at developing an integrated urban transport system.
Qatamin said Jordan seeks to press ahead with projects on schedule, stressing that the partnership supports reform and economic growth. The EBRD delegation reaffirmed its commitment to backing Jordan’s transport infrastructure and public transit improvements.
