Amman, Dec. 2 (Petra) – The University of Jordan Hospital received five children from Gaza with heart conditions on Tuesday as part of an initiative carried out in cooperation with the Chain of Hope foundation, Gift of Life International – Jordan organization and the Children Without Numbers foundation.
The initiative is in line with ongoing humanitarian directives from King Abdullah II in support of the Palestinian people.
The hospital stated that the receiving the children is part of Jordan’s efforts to ease the suffering of children in Gaza.
On Monday, the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army transferred the 18th batch of child patients, including 16 children and 51 companions, to the Kingdom for medical care, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO).
A specialized medical team, led by Senior Pediatric Cardiologist Dr. Iyad Ammouri, will conduct full diagnostic assessments and prepare the children for the scheduled surgeries.
Hospital Director Dr. Nader Bsoul said receiving Gaza children directly reflects the King’s humanitarian directives and demonstrates Jordan’s leading role in providing comprehensive and safe care, utilizing all medical, technical and human resources.
Dr. Ammouri added that the children will undergo detailed evaluations followed by open-heart surgeries or interventional catheter procedures as part of a specialized surgical campaign, conducted in cooperation with international medical teams, ensuring high-quality care and recovery.
