Jordan Hosts First Drone Racing Championship

Amman, Oct. 29 (Petra) — Under the patronage of His Highness Prince Omar bin Faisal, President of the Jordan Esports Federation, HoverUp, a pioneering Jordanian company specializing in drone technology and aerial innovation, will organize Jordan’s first FPV (First Person View) drone racing event this Friday at the Dead Sea.

The event marks a significant milestone in advancing technology-based sports in Jordan, placing the Kingdom at the forefront of digital and innovative athletic disciplines. It also represents an important step toward institutionalizing drone racing and establishing Jordan as a regional hub for innovation and emerging technologies.

The competition will feature 50 participants, selected from more than 850 applicants aged 14 and above, in an electrifying contest that merges virtual simulation and real-world racing.

Earlier qualifying rounds were held at the King Hussein Business Park (The ARC), where participants competed on professional-grade flight simulators to secure their place in the finals. The championship round will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Dead Sea.
