Amman, Aug 31 (Petra) – Minister of Culture Mustafa Rawashdeh, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Imad Hijazin, and Chairman of Greater Amman Municipality Committee Yousef Shawarbeh on Sunday discussed implementation plans for mural projects in the capital and across governorates.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Culture, the meeting was held at the Royal Cultural Center with the participation of Ministry Secretary-General Nidal Ayasrah, visual artist Raed Asfour, and Assistant Secretary-General Aroub Shamayleh.

The initiative is part of a national effort to beautify public spaces, highlight Jordan’s cultural and artistic identity, and strengthen the role of visual arts as a vital element in the country’s cultural and tourism landscape.

Officials stressed that the murals will go beyond aesthetics to foster a sense of belonging, raise awareness of art as a civilizational value, enrich the cultural and tourism scene, and showcase the uniqueness of each governorate through its local artists.

The project, described as a pioneering national step, will begin in Amman and extend to other cities as a testament to Jordan’s cultural richness and diversity.
