
Amman, Aug. 31 (Petra) – Director General of the Jordan Museum, Ihab Amarin, on Sunday received the Cultural Counselor at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Amman, Zhao Xiaoqiang, along with Assistant Director of the Center Ahmed Aqrabawi and Secretary Li Shinja.
Amarin briefed the delegation on the museum and the royal vision behind its establishment, aimed at preserving the Kingdom’s antiquities and history while presenting them to Jordanian and international visitors, reflecting Jordan’s creativity throughout the ages.
He underlined the museum’s efforts to strengthen ties with national museums in friendly countries to exchange expertise and foster cooperation. He also highlighted its key achievements, notably the establishment of the Jordan Museums Association, headed by HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Vice Chair of the Museum’s Board of Trustees, which represents Jordan at the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
The Chinese Cultural Counselor expressed interest in the museum, noting the potential for cooperation in areas including expertise exchange, temporary exhibitions, joint projects, and research.
