Jordan Post to Issue New Stamps Featuring World Heritage Sites

Amman, Aug 30 (Petra) – Jordan Post Company said it will release on Monday a new set of commemorative stamps for this year under the theme “Jordanian Sites Listed as World Heritage.”

In a statement on Saturday, the company said the issue consists of six stamps, each valued at 25 piastres, and a card valued at 50 piastres. It also includes a “first day cover” with a set of stamps affixed to the envelope priced at 250 piastres, a postcard worth 25 piastres, and a souvenir brochure containing stamps of Jordanian World Heritage sites valued at JD5.

The company said the release aims to raise awareness of Jordan’s heritage, highlight its historical sites, promote national pride and cultural identity, encourage cultural tourism, stimulate conservation efforts, and support cultural and development policies.

It added that the new issue will be available at the company’s Stamp Department headquarters as well as post offices in Jabal Amman, Jabal Luweibdeh, Downtown, Abdali, Irbid, Madaba, Aqaba, Jerash, Petra, Karak, Ajloun, Salt, Fuheis, and the Jerash Visitors Center.
