Amman, Nov. 25 (Petra) – Jordan’s Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Yarub Al-Qudah, met with Syrian Director General of Borders and Customs, Qutaiba Badawi, to discuss measures aimed at enhancing operations at the border crossings between the two countries and facilitating the movement of goods and people.
During the meeting in Damascus yesterday, both sides emphasized the importance of providing the necessary conditions to stimulate bilateral trade, improve transport flows in both directions, and complete the implementation of previous agreements.
They also agreed to continue strengthening commercial exchange, enhance cooperation at the Nasib and Jaber border crossings, and simplify import procedures.
Al-Qudah and Badawi additionally reviewed plans to develop the Jordanian-Syrian joint free zone as an attractive environment for investment, improve services for travelers and drivers, and remove obstacles to transit.
They stressed the need to expand the Nasib and Jaber border crossings to accommodate the growing number of trucks and travelers, boost operational capacity, and enhance logistical efficiency at the crossings.
