
Amman, Oct. 20 (Petra) – The Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (IACC) announced the results of the second cycle of the National Integrity Index (2024-2025) during a ceremony on Monday, held in cooperation with the Hayat Center “Rased” and the Rasheed (Transparency International-Jordan).
The IACC Chairperson Muhannad Hijazi said the index represents a milestone in enhancing governance and institutional integrity in Jordan. He stressed that the initiative seeks not only to rank institutions but to embed a culture of accountability and good governance, reflecting the state’s values of justice, equality, and the rule of law.
Hijazi highlighted notable improvements across public administrations, with commitment to national integrity standards increasing by more than 14 percent compared to the first cycle. Ministries improved by 8.6 percent, government and educational hospitals by 13.52 percent, government departments and institutions by 6.5 percent, and public universities recorded the highest improvement at 16.58 percent.
He underscored that the index is a platform for institutional development, aiming to translate data into policies and policies into tangible benefits for citizens. Hijazi also called for integrating the results into annual government and individual performance evaluations.
The ceremony recognized top-performing institutions in five categories. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship ranked first among ministries, the Public Tenders Directorate led government directorates, the University of Science and Technology topped public universities, and the al-Bashir Hospital led government and educational hospitals. Awards were presented to the respective heads of each entity.
A total of 119 government agencies were evaluated across ministries, government directorates and institutions, public universities, and government and educational hospitals. Evaluations included six stages involving compliance matrices, institutional integrity questionnaires, employee self-assessments, and service recipient surveys.
