Amman, Feb. 5 (Petra) — Chair of the Senate Committee on Arab, International and Expatriate Affairs, Senator Hani Mulqi, on Thursday met with Yemeni Ambassador to Jordan Jalal Ibrahim Faqira to discuss ways to enhance relations between the two countries.
Mulqi reaffirmed Jordan’s firm and supportive stance toward Yemen’s security and stability, and its commitment to backing efforts aimed at achieving a political solution that preserves Yemen’s unity and sovereignty and alleviates the suffering of the Yemeni people.
He highlighted the depth of historical ties between the two countries, founded on Arab brotherhood and cooperation, stressing the importance of building on these relations and strengthening them across political, economic, and cultural fields to serve shared interests and support regional stability and development.
Faqira expressed his country’s appreciation for Jordan’s supportive positions at both official and popular levels, commending Jordan’s role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II in promoting Arab solidarity.
He also stressed the importance of continued coordination and consultation on issues of mutual concern.
The meeting also addressed several Arab and regional issues, as well as ways to enhance pan-Arab action in support of the interests of Arab peoples and regional security and stability.
