Amman, September 28 (Petra) – A patrol in the Al-Qarn area, within the Northern Military Zone, encountered a vehicle that refused to stop at a security checkpoint, a military source from the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces reported.
The vehicle ignored orders to halt and attempted to breach the checkpoint, prompting the patrol to enforce the established rules of engagement after all warnings were exhausted.
The vehicle was stopped following an exchange. Two men inside the vehicle were injured and took to Abu Obeida Hospital in Northern Shuna for treatment but were later pronounced dead.
An investigation has been launched to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
The Armed Forces call on people to comply with military instructions at checkpoints, emphasising that any violations will be addressed in accordance with the rules of engagement.
