
Amman, January 16 (Petra) -Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF) at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources held an expanded meeting Thursday, with the sector’s energy auditing companies.
The JREEEF Executive Director, Rasmi Hamza, praised these companies “remarkable” efforts and their “prominent” role in supporting the National Program for Energy Efficiency in the Industrial Sector, which was implemented by the fund since 2016.
Hamza noted the JREEEF’s “strategic” vision to achieve under the rationing program, which aims to enhance market dynamism, expand the number of companies operating in the sector, increase investment volume and create permanent job opportunities.
Hamza said the JREEEF continues to provide financial and technical incentives to achieve these goals.
Noting achievements made last year, he said the JREEEF implemented more than 100 energy auditing studies at a cost estimated at about JD1 million, which were financed under the fund’s grants provided to the industrial sector.
Hamza stressed the importance of continuing the program expansion, praising the ongoing partnership with the Jordan Chamber of Industry, and international donor projects and activities.
Hamza noted the Fund’s intention to expand the program scope to include other sectors, primarily hospitals, hotels, and government buildings, which would increase activity in the market and enhance investment opportunities in these industries to achieve energy efficiency.
Within the framework of the Fund’s plans for the year 2025, he indicated the JREEEF’s readiness to implement training programs aimed at raising engineers’ efficiency in companies working in energy auditing field.
During the meeting, the participants went over the mechanisms for expanding the program, ensuring the studies’ quality and investing their results as practical projects to improve energy efficiency in factories, buildings, and production lines, according to an Energy Ministry statement.
The statement added that the efforts focus on reducing costs and emissions and increasing competitiveness by taking advantage of the fund’s financial and technical support, which includes “full” grants to cover costs of energy auditing studies and finance loans to implement the study outputs.
Concluding the dialogue, the participants agreed to enhance outputs of the JREEEF-implemented studies and increase ad hoc work teams by recruiting new competencies in companies.
