Amman, October 19 (Petra) — His Majesty King Abdullah II, during a phone call with Norway Prime Minister Jonas Gahr St?re on Sunday, stressed the need to ensure implementation of the agreement to end the war in Gaza in all its stages, and to commit to the ceasefire in order to achieve regional calm.
According to a royal court statement, His Majesty urged stepping up international efforts to respond to the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, as well as to ensure the flow of aid to all areas of the Strip.
The King warned of the dangers of unilateral measures in the West Bank and Jerusalem, reiterating the importance of intensifying efforts to create a political horizon for achieving lasting and comprehensive peace, on the basis of the two-state solution.
His Majesty also commended Norway’s support for peace based on the two-state solution, and its assistance in providing funding to UNRWA.
