Kuwait City, March 07 (QNA) – Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) announced Saturday a precautionary cut in crude oil production and refining operations, following Iran’s repeated and sinful attacks against the State of Kuwait, including Iranian threats to the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
The decision is part of the approved strategy for risk management and ensuring business continuity and is a purely precautionary measure that will be revisited as the situation plays out, KPC said in a statement.
The statement added that KPC is fully committed to restoring production levels whenever circumstances allow, with all domestic needs remaining entirely secured according to the set plans.
Overall, KPC reiterated its commitment to putting operators’ safety at the top of its priorities, protecting Kuwait’s wealth, and reinforcing stability in global energy markets. It noted that any updates will be made as required. (QNA)
