Amman, Jan 9 (Petra) — Kuwait’s Ambassador to Jordan Hamad Al-Marri reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) during a ceremony Thursday where he delivered Kuwait’s annual financial contribution to the agency.
During the handover meeting with UNRWA’s Director of External Relations and Communications Tamara Al-Rifai, Ambassador Al-Marri emphasized Kuwait’s dedication to enabling UNRWA to meet its financial obligations and continue providing essential services.
“Kuwait remains committed to fulfilling its obligations to UNRWA, recognizing the agency’s crucial role despite its challenges,” Al-Marri stated, underlining Kuwait’s ongoing support for the Palestinian cause.
Al-Rifai expressed gratitude for Kuwait’s support, noting that the contribution will help UNRWA maintain its services in occupied territories, Jordan, and other host countries. She highlighted the agency’s extensive network of hundreds of schools and dozens of health centers serving Palestinian refugees.
The handover ceremony underscores Kuwait’s continued commitment to supporting Palestinian refugees through UNRWA’s humanitarian mission.
