Beirut, March 02 (QNA) – Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun has condemned the aggression by the Israeli entity targeting the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
In a statement issued by the Lebanese Presidency, Aoun stated that the launching of rockets from Lebanese territory at dawn today targets all efforts and endeavors made by the state to keep Lebanon distanced from the dangerous military confrontations the region is witnessing. He warned of the repercussions of these confrontations for Lebanon, calling for wisdom and dealing with them with a sense of national responsibility that prioritizes the supreme national interest above all else.
He condemned the Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory, warning that persisting in using Lebanon once again as a platform for ‘support wars’. He added that the responsibility for these risks lies with the parties that ignored repeated calls to maintain security and stability in the country.
In a related context, Israeli warplanes launched a series of new strikes on southern Lebanon, while the occupation army issued evacuation warnings for more than 50 villages and towns in the south and east of the country in preparation for further raids. (QNA)
