Amman, Jan. 25 (Petra) — Chair of the Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee MP Haitham Ziadin reaffirmed the depth of Jordan-Sudan relations, describing them as grounded in enduring Arab and historical ties.
His remarks came during a committee meeting with Sudan’s Ambassador to Jordan Hassan Siwar Al Dahab, which reviewed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation across political, economic, health, education, and agricultural sectors in support of both countries’ interests.
Ziadin said Jordan, under His Majesty King Abdullah II, continues to stand by Arab states despite regional challenges, stressing that the security and stability of Arab countries is a cornerstone of broader Arab national security.
Committee members MPs Iman Abbasi, Dima Tahboub, Mohammad Sabailah, and Huda Naffaa described Sudan as “the Arab world’s breadbasket” given its significant agricultural and human potential, expressing hopes for greater stability and recovery that would reinforce Sudan’s role in Arab food security while safeguarding its unity and sovereignty.
Siwar Al Dahab praised Jordan’s support for Sudan and said Khartoum is keen to expand cooperation and deepen coordination and consultations on regional issues to serve mutual interests.
