Amman, Nov. 25 (Petra) — Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Mazen Qadi met on Tuesday with Omani Ambassador Fahad Alojaili to discuss strengthening bilateral relations, particularly parliamentary cooperation.
Qadi affirmed the strength of Jordanian-Omani ties established by the late King Hussein bin Talal and the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, noting that the two countries continue to uphold close cooperation under His Majesty King Abdullah II and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.
He said both nations have long embraced balanced and moderate policies and share values of dialogue, tolerance, and consensus in the Arab and Islamic arenas.
Qadi and Alojaili stressed the importance of enhancing economic cooperation and increasing trade exchange in a manner that reflects the depth of relations and benefits both peoples.
The Omani Ambassador said Jordanian-Omani relations are historic and well-established, adding that the positions of both countries, under the leadership of King Abdullah II and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, consistently support the interests of the Arab and Islamic nations. He pointed to the ongoing coordination and consultation between the two leaderships.
