Amman, Feb 9 (Petra) – Social Development Minister Wafa Bani Mustafa said on Monday that aid distributed across Jordan is a generous royal makruma for families benefiting from the National Aid Fund, coinciding with His Majesty King Abdullah II’s birthday and before the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
A total of 60,000 families will receive JD100 shopping vouchers each, at a total amount of JD6 million, which will be dispensed by the Military and Civil Consumers Corporations, she said.
Beneficiary families were identified through a computerized system based on National Aid Fund data to ensure fairness and eligibility, with a priority to families who did not receive aid in the previous year, and taking into account equitable distribution and geographical inclusion, said the minister.
The aim is to gradually reach all National Aid beneficiaries in stages over the coming years, she added.
