Kosti, Feb. 11, 2026 (SUNA) — Federal Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries, Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri, announced the establishment of an integrated animal production city in White Nile State, following the state government’s approval to allocate 20,000 acres for the project.The announcement came at the outset of his official visit to the state, in the presence of White Nile State Wali Lt. Gen. Gamar-Eddin Mohamed Fadl Al-Mawla, several state government members, and the Secretary-General of the Higher Council for Animal, Fisheries, and Rangelands.The minister explained that the city will include a modern dairy and meat production company, an academy to train veterinarians, animal production graduates, and livestock breeders, in addition to a concentrated feed factory, an artificial insemination and embryo transfer centre, and programmes for improving sheep and goat breeds.He stated that the project is part of the ministry’s plan to develop the sector and enhance its contribution to the national economy, noting that White Nile State possesses substantial animal resources, qualifying it to lead production.The minister began his visit with a field tour of calf fattening projects, Kosti abattoir, fish research and management centres, and fish marketing projects across several states. He also met with directors of the animal resources directorates in the localities, and livestock producers and exporters, reviewing performance reports and the Higher Council’s plans for the current year.For his part, the Wali of White Nile State affirmed the state government’s readiness to provide the necessary resources to ensure the project’s success and to support the federal ministry’s programmes.BH/BH
