Amman, Feb 4 (Petra) – Moroccan authorities have evacuated about 108,423 people from several areas due to floods affecting the kingdom and in anticipation of the repercussions of expected climate fluctuations in the coming days.
According to the Maghreb Arab Press Agency, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior said in a statement on Wednesday that government authorities have been working for days on a comprehensive and proactive mobilization to confront this exceptional situation, particularly the noticeable rise in water levels of valleys and waterways and the possibility of rainfall reaching up to 150 millimeters in a short period in some areas, which could result in flooding.
