Amman, Nov. 30 (Petra) — The Jordanian national football team began its technical and physical training program in Doha in preparation for the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025.
The squad held its first training session on Saturday evening at al-Uqla Stadium under the supervision of head coach Jamal Salameh, with full player participation.
Jordan will open its campaign against the United Arab Emirates at 8 p.m. next Wednesday at Al Bayt Stadium. The team will then face Kuwait at 2 p.m. next Saturday at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, before concluding the group stage against Egypt at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Al Bayt Stadium.
The 23-player roster for the tournament includes: Yazeed Abu Layla, Nour Bani Attieh, Malek Shalabiya, Abdullah Naseeb, Saad Rousan, Saleem Obeid, Hussam Abu Dahab, Ali Hajbi, Hadi Hourani, Essam Smeiri, Adham Quraishi, Raja’i Ayed, Amer Jammous, Nizar Rashdan, Ibrahim Saadeh, Mohammad Abu Hashish, Muhannad Abu Taha, Awda Fakhoury, Ahmad Ersan, Mahmoud Mardi, Mohammad Abu Zureiq, Ali Alwan, and Yazan Naimat.
This marks Jordan’s tenth appearance in the Arab Cup since its debut in the inaugural 1963 edition in Lebanon, the highest number of participations among Arab teams.
Jordan has already secured qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals for the first time in its history, becoming the first Arab team to clinch an early berth.
