Amman, Nov. 23 (Petra) –Secretary-General of the Ministry of Government Communication, Dr. Zaid Nawaiseh, called for promoting media and information literacy across all the society’s segments and enhancing capabilities to combat fake news and mitigate its circulation.
Nawaiseh’s remarks came during his meeting with the delegation participating in the “Diplomatic Leadership” program, organized by the Sharjah Training and Development Center of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Best Practice Training And Management Consultancy in the United Arab Emirates.
Talking at the meeting, Nawaiseh reviewed the ministry’s media efforts and its role in developing the Kingdom’s media and communication system.
Nawaiseh said development of a competent media landscape is “one of the key” aspects of boosting the media and communication system.
Praising the Jordanian-UAE media cooperation, he said it reflects the “advanced, brotherly” bilateral relations, calling for leveraging the two countries’ media expertise to further develop media and communication work.
