Dongola, Jan. 23, 2026 (SUNA) – The Wali of Northern State, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Abdulhamid Ibrahim, met Friday with the Wali of North Darfur State, Al-Hafiz Bakhit Mohamed, and his delegation to discuss the humanitarian situation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and ways to enhance joint efforts in providing basic services for North Darfur IDPs in Northern State.The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the State Secretary-General Mahjoub Mohamed Sidahmed, Social Affairs Secretary Manal Makkawi, Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Dr. Wael Mohamed Sharif, and Darfur Region Coordinator Al-Omdah Al-Tahir.Al-Hafiz Bakhit Mohamed said the visit aims to inspect IDP conditions, strengthen inter-state coordination, and address humanitarian challenges. He thanked Northern State authorities and the host community for their support, praising Azhari Al-Mubarak for establishing the Al-Affadh IDP camp in Al-Dabbah locality.He added that the tour will cover several states to directly assess IDP conditions and emphasized confidence in the Armed Forces and joint security forces to restore stability and reclaim areas affected by rebellion.FA/BH
