Amman, Oct. 22 (Petra) Norway announced that it will present a new draft resolution to the United Nations to compel Israel to lift restrictions on aid to the besieged and devastated Gaza Strip, following a ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
According to AFP, Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said on Wednesday that Norway intends to follow up the ICJ ruling with a resolution by the UN General Assembly.
Norway spearheaded the UN draft initiative, which requested the ICJ to issue an “advisory opinion” on Israel’s obligations under international law regarding the delivery of aid to Gaza.
