Qatar National Library (QNL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today
to strengthen institutional cooperation in the fields of documentation,
archives, scientific research, and other areas of mutual interest. The

documentary heritage.

The

Chairman of the NRAA, and on behalf of the Qatari side by Huism Tan, Executive
Director of the Qatar National Library, at the QNL headquarters in Doha.

The
memorandum outlines several strategic objectives for coordination, namely sharing
sources and digital content of heritage and historical collections, exchanging
technical knowledge in document preservation, management, and accessibility and
organizing joint events, training programs, and workshops to develop the skills
of personnel in both institutions.

Developing
joint initiatives that enhance the role of both organizations in serving
knowledge and safeguarding Arab documentary heritage.

The
signing took place during an Omani delegation’s visit to Qatar, which began
with a meeting with Dr. Hamad Abdulaziz Al Kawari, Minister of State and
President of the Qatar National Library. The meeting focused on the importance
of strengthening partnerships between Arab archival and library institutions
and their role in preserving national memory and cultural heritage.

Al
Dhawyani emphasized that this MoU reflects the NRAA’s commitment to expanding
cooperation with leading regional and international cultural institutions. He
noted that exchanging experiences in preservation and digital transformation
will enhance institutional performance and promote Omani documentary heritage
on both regional and global stages.
