Oman Air Achieves Record-Breaking Commercial Performance in 2025
Muscat, 28 Jan 2026 (ONA) — Oman Air recorded robust
commercial performance during 2025, achieving a milestone in the airline’s
ongoing transformation program resulting from the success of initiatives aimed
at enhancing operational efficiency, achieving sustainable growth, and
elevating the guest experience.
Oman Air successfully transported approximately 5.8 million
passengers in 2025, an increase of 8 percent compared to 2024, and a
significant rise of 57 percent compared to 2022, thereby exceeding global
market growth rates.
Passenger traffic directly arriving into the Sultanate of Oman
also witnessed notable development, accounting for 64 percent of the total
passenger count, after the sector recorded an unprecedented annual growth of 34
percent.
Furthermore, the load factor jumped from 76 percent in 2024 to
82 percent in 2025, representing an annual increase of 6 percent and a 26
percent increase compared to 2022, driven by more disciplined network and
revenue management.
Oman Air increased its seat capacity on the Muscat–Salalah route
by 17 percent during 2025 compared to 2024, and by 19 percent compared to 2022,
leading to a passenger increase on this route of 19 percent compared to 2024
and 36 percent compared to 2022.
The national carrier also launched its first direct charter
flights between Moscow and Salalah, with plans for expansion to additional
Russian cities during 2026. This expansion is set to extend later to other
European markets starting from 2027.
These initiatives are expected to attract up to 580,000
additional passengers to Salalah by 2030, contributing to the tourism sector
with revenues exceeding RO 320 million.
On the front of national responsibility, Oman Air continued its
commitment to facilitating citizen travel by maintaining fixed ticket prices
for Omani citizens on the Muscat–Salalah route throughout the year, including
the autumn (Khareef) season, while increasing flights during peak periods.
Con Korfiatis, CEO of Oman Air, affirmed that these results
embody the tangible progress the company has made within its transformation strategy,
which placed improving commercial performance and optimal resource utilization
at the forefront of its priorities, alongside a greater focus on the traveling
guest experience.
The transformation program launched by Oman Air in 2023 aims to
reach the financial break-even point, a goal the company is progressing towards
achieving within a record time, while maintaining a full commitment to
improving service quality according to international standards and ensuring
sustainable value for all partners, travelers, and stakeholders.
