Australia Hold Political Talks

11 Dec 2025 (ONA) — The first session of political talks between the Sultanate
of Oman and Australia was held today in Muscat.
The
Omani side was headed by Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Hosni, Head of the
Asia and Pacific Department at the Foreign Ministry. The Australian side was
headed by Paul Griffiths, First Assistant Secretary for the Middle East and
Africa Division at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
During
the session, they reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries
and discussed means of enhancing existing cooperation in various fields,
particularly in the economic, investment, and cultural aspects.
They
also exchanged views on a number of regional issues of mutual interest.
The
session was attended on the Australian side by Miles Armitage, Ambassador of
Australia to the Sultanate of Oman, and a number of officials from both sides.
