Hong Kong Discuss Joint Investment Cooperation

Hong
Kong, 3 Aug (ONA) — Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman
Investment Authority (OIA), met with John Lee Ka-chiu, Chief Executive of the
Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

During
the meeting, the two sides reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation between Oman
and Hong Kong in the economic, trade, and investment sectors, and touched on
available opportunities to strengthen the partnership between the two sides.

This
meeting took place during Al Murshidi’s current visit to Hong Kong. He praised
the existing relationship between Oman and Hong Kong, emphasizing the
importance of continuing reciprocal visits and enhancing cooperation in areas
that serve the mutual interests of both sides.

For
his part, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong affirmed that Oman possesses an
ambitious strategic vision in Oman Vision 2040, which aligns with the
“Belt and Road” initiative. This, he noted, contributes to enhancing
economic and commercial cooperation. He pointed out that Hong Kong, as a global
financial and commercial hub, offers an attractive environment for investments
in various sectors, including renewable energy and advanced technologies.

The
meeting was attended by Sheikh Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large
at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
