Oman, Iran Hold Session of Strategic Consultations
Muscat, 20 Oct
(ONA) — The 11th session of the Omani-Iranian Strategic Consultations Committee was held at the Foreign Ministry in Muscat today.
The Omani
side was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign
Ministry for Political Affairs, while the Iranian side was headed
by Majid Takht Ravanchi, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs
The session reviewed
prominent aspects of bilateral relations in the political and
economic fields, as well as issues of interest to the citizens of the two countries.
The session
also looked into the recent progress made by the two countries in terms of
exchange of visits and signing of agreements. The session stressed
the need to follow up the outcome of the visits and agreements in a manner that
consolidates bilateral cooperation.
The two
sides also exchanged views about regional and international issues of common concern.
The session
was attended by Sheikh Ahmed Hashel Al Maskari, Head of
the GCC and Regional Neighbourhood Department at
the Foreign Ministry, Mousa Farhang, Ambassador of the
Islamic Republic of Iran to the Sultanate of Oman, and other officials
from the two countries.
