Participates in GCC Economic Meeting in Kuwait

5 Oct (ONA) — The Sultanate of Oman participated today in the 13th meeting of
the Senior Officials Committee of the Economic and Development Affairs
Authority of the GCC, held in the State of Kuwait.

The
Omani delegation was headed by Dr. Nasser Rashid Al Maawali, Undersecretary of
the Ministry of Economy.

The
meeting’s agenda included several topics related to the stages of economic
integration within the GCC, particularly concerning the obstacles and solutions
for achieving economic unity, updating the timeline for its realization, and
reviewing the comments of member states.

The
Committee also reviewed the action plan and mechanism for the timeline to build
the Gulf Economic Model, preparations for holding a GCC conference and dialogue
discussion sessions at conferences planned in member states during the coming
year, and other topics related to economic and development projects within the
framework of joint Gulf action.

The
office of the Economic and Development Affairs Authority also reviewed the
studies and projects it is following up on. The recommendations reached by the
Senior Officials Committee will be submitted to the upcoming meeting of the
Permanent Preparatory Committee at the Ministerial Level of the Economic and
Development Affairs Authority, scheduled for 9 October.
