21 Jan 2026 (ONA) — The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the Annual
Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) “Davos 2026,” with a
delegation led by the Ministry of Economy.

The
event, held from 19 to 23 January 2026, is themed “A Spirit of Dialogue,”
bringing together global leaders from various sectors to discuss common
challenges and anticipate the impact of advanced technological transformations.

The
forum is addressing five key global challenges, including: building trust and
enhancing collective action; identifying new drivers for sustainable economic
growth; focusing on skill development and investment in human capital; ensuring
the responsible use of technology and innovation; and integrating environmental
sustainability into economic growth models. Additionally, the forum is
exploring issues related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital
transformation, and cybersecurity, along with their effects on industries and
societies.

During
its participation, the Sultanate of Oman is showcasing progress achieved in
several priority sectors, including clean energy, logistics, digital
transformation, and human capital development. These presentations reflect the
objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and the nation’s trajectory toward economic
diversification and long-term sustainability.

Oman’s
participation also highlights national efforts in transitioning toward
renewable energy, developing green hydrogen projects, enhancing the role of
economic zones, and building an innovation- and knowledge-based economy.
Furthermore, the delegation is presenting qualitative investment opportunities
and partnerships that support inclusive and sustainable growth.

On
the sidelines of the forum, the Omani delegation is scheduled to hold a series
of meetings and dialogues with international partners and decision-makers.
These engagements aim to bolster Oman’s position as a reliable partner, a
stable economy, and an attractive environment for investment and international
cooperation.
