to Mark International Metrology Day Tomorrow
Muscat,
19 May (ONA) —— The Sultanate of Oman will join countries around the world
tomorrow, Tuesday, in celebrating the International Metrology Day (the science
of measurement), which falls on 20 May every year. The occasion highlights the
essential role of measurement in all aspects of daily life, as well as in
economic and scientific fields.
This
year’s celebration carries the theme “Measurements for All, Anytime”,
marking the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Metre Convention, a pivotal
milestone in the history of international cooperation in metrology. The
convention laid the foundation for unified and globally recognized measurement
systems.
